Kirsty's work in hospitals

ABOUT KIRSTY SHADIAC

Kirsty was born in Adelaide in 1983, and even as a child she was always drawing pictures! Her passions are creating art and teaching kids to draw.

Kirsty finished school in 2000 and went on to study Visual Communication and Graphic Design while working at a primary school for kids with intellectual disabilities. In 2004 she moved to Sydney to work at Art House Gallery (Rushcutters Bay), working with highly successful contemporary Australian artists. Kirsty’s art is highly influenced by all of the artsits she worked with during this time.

In 2007 Kirsty set up her own art classes for kids in Sydney and continued to run weekly when she moved back to Adelaide in 2010. Branching out to include many artist in residence programs in schools, Kirsty spent 2 years developing her brainchild:

ARTVENTURE.COM.AU

Through her work at the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Kirsty was also asked to create a huge kids mural in the neighbouring Prince of Wales Hospital (Randwick, NSW) for the radiation treatment ward (unveiled in 2009). Kirsty also worked as Captain “Creative” Starlight at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital with the Starlight Children’s Foundation prior to becoming a mum in 2013.
